Spacers are used to ensure the dimensional stability of the individual gabions.
Two types of spacers are used - corner lengths of 0.5 m or cross lengths of 1.0 m. The spacers are placed inside the gabion after filling ½ (for a gabion height of 0.5 m) or 1/3 (for a gabion height of 1.0 m) of the gabion with stone, so that they are not damaged during filling.
