Knotted and Yard mesh fencing – a practical solution for fencing large areas

When choosing the right fencing for large properties, such as pastures, farms, forest areas, or hunting grounds, you will often come across the terms "knotted fencing" and "yard mesh fencing."

These types of fencing provide reliable protection against escape or unwanted entry by wildlife. What are their advantages and disadvantages, and which one is right for you?

Knotted wire mesh – flexibility and strength in one

Knotted wire mesh is characterized by a special method of interweaving wires into knots, making it very strong and resistant to mechanical stress.

This mesh has a distinctive mesh pattern in which the mesh openings become smaller toward the bottom.

Advantages:

High strength and flexibility – withstands pressure from animals and external factors.

Gradually decreasing mesh size toward the bottom – prevents smaller animals from passing through.

Long service life – made from galvanized wire, ensuring protection against corrosion.

Easy installation – can be installed even on uneven terrain.

Disadvantages:

May deform over time with intense contact from animals.

Our product range also includes posts Préria, which are similar to vineyard posts and offer the advantage of being installed by simply driving them into the ground, without the need for concrete. Another advantage is that they feature loops that make it easier to attach the wire mesh.

Yard mesh fencing – a safe barrier against wildlife

Yard mesh is a special type of chain link netting with higher strength and larger mesh size. It is primarily used to protect farms, forest nurseries, and roads from wildlife.

Advantages:

High strength and durability – thicker wire ensures greater stability.

Protection against large wildlife – suitable for preventing access by deer, roe deer, or wild boars.

Longlife – the galvanized wire used in its manufacture ensures corrosion resistance.

Various height options – can be adapted to the needs of a specific location, with the option to manufacture mesh up to 400 cm in height.

Disadvantages:

Higher price compared to knotted mesh.

More difficult to install, especially for taller mesh.

Tips for installing Knotted and Yard mesh

To ensure that the mesh functions properly and lasts as long as possible, we recommend the following during installation:

Use posts that are sufficiently sturdy (steel, wood, or concrete) and spaced at the recommended intervals.

When installing the mesh, also use tension wire, to ensure the fence is sufficiently strong and stable.

For tall Yard mesh, use brace posts to increase impact resistance.
